Year 9 Camp

Year 9 Camp was a chance for students to step outside their comfort zones, challenge themselves and build stronger relationships with their classmates. Our Year 9 Camp MVPs have shared their experiences, favourite moments and what they took away from the camp.

Camp was such a fun experience we had lots of challenges to face such as free jump, abseiling, cave, high wire and mud run. In all these challenging activities we all faced something we were once scared of. However, we managed to get through with the support and courage from peers, coaches and teachers. I really enjoyed going through the mud run with all my friends and completing lap two with my group.

Everyone who participated did a great job my highlight was getting a deserved medal at the end for all our leadership and hard work through the three days we were there and getting to ride in the military tank. Many people regretted not participating in certain activities, so I recommend being brave when you go the summit and to participate in everything otherwise you’ll have some regrets. To the Future Year 9s take this opportunity because you’ll never experience something like this again.

Camp was really an exciting experience and the challenges that we had to face really weren’t there for fun even though they were really fun but it also boosted peoples mental capability, the challenges helped with leadership and teamwork, encouraging people to push people out of their comfort zone or do something that they might not experience.

This camp showed that everyone is challenged in their own way. This camp gives you an opportunity to hang out with friends and even other people that you may not know making connections along the way. The medal wasn’t just because I did everything. It was because I pushed my self and helped people to do so as well. Overall camp was a really fun experience and for the future year 9’s I do recommend that you go as well.
