Book Week

We celebrated Book Week and Australian School Library Day this week with a flurry of activity in the library.

Special mention must go to Winter, who has put in lots of effort to set up a Blind Date with a Book - encouraging people to choose their next read without the help of a cover.

Students also made bookmarks at lunchtimes in the library, and many have entered the Trivia contest with prizes to be won! Staff and students were also invited to tell us about their favourite book, recommend a book or share what they love about the school library.

The library is also running a Reading Challenge for the whole term - drop in to pick up your sheet if you want to get involved.

Indonesian Speaking Contest

At the end of Term 2, two of our Year 8 Indonesian students, Jayda M and Scarlett S, participated in the Sayembara Lisan (Speaking Contest) organised by VILTA (Victorian Indonesian Language Teachers Association).

Both students achieved a Distinction for their performances, which is a fantastic achievement!

Participating in the contest provided them with a wonderful opportunity to practice their Indonesian speaking skills and build their confidence in using the language.

We are very proud of their effort and achievement!

Science Week

There was lots happening in the Science space to celebrate Science Week. We also enjoyed science-themed songs for the bell warning music. These students had the opportunity to create mouse trap vehicles as part of the school-based program that runs when others go on the Downhill Ski / Snowboard days.
