Supporting Positive Choices at School

We continue to guide students in making thoughtful choices and understanding that actions have consequences, whether intended or not. We encourage families to have ongoing conversations about respectful behaviour, boundaries, and seeking support from family and community when needed.

We are reinforcing with students what respectful interactions look and feel like, including speaking kindly, avoiding demeaning comments, and recognising when joking around can become hurtful. This includes teasing and taunting, which can escalate quickly and impact student wellbeing. Students are being supported to notice when humour crosses a line and how to respond respectfully.

A key focus at the moment is physical behaviour. We are addressing actions such as pushing and shoving, grabbing, and other forms of touching that may start as rough play but can quickly become unsafe. Even when students believe they are “just mucking around” these behaviours can cause discomfort, breach personal boundaries, or lead to unintended injuries. We are helping students understand that certain types of physical interactions are not appropriate at school, and that there will be consequences when these actions impact or have the potential to impact the health, safety or wellbeing of others.

We appreciate the partnership of our families in guiding students to make positive choices, understand the impact of their actions, and contribute to a school culture where every student feels safe, respected, and included.

Uniform

Thank you to our students and families for the continued effort with school uniform. It’s been great to see such an improvement, especially with students arriving in navy or white long‑sleeve tops under their school shirt, black school shoes, and correct school pants.

Just a reminder that if a student is unexpectedly unable to wear the correct uniform, please provide a signed note from home and ensure they wear something as close to the school uniform as possible.

As we move forward, we’re placing a gentle focus on accessories. A navy scarf can be worn outdoors on cold days, and earrings and jewellery should remain minimal.
