Preschool Update
Exciting news – we were given access to the preschool building this week! We can now resource the building ready to begin service before the end of the term.
Families who have already expressed interest will be invited to the school next week for a tour of the preschool at a time that works for them.
All other families and interested persons are invited to attend the Boorowa Public Preschool ‘Sneak Peek’ between 5 and 6pm on Wednesday 9 September, prior to Boorowa Central School’s Showcase evening. More information about this to come soon.

Subject Selection
Thank you to the parents and students who attended the Subject Selection night last week. This was an opportunity to about choosing subjects for 2027 and gain information regarding the Record of Student Achievement (ROSA) and the Higher School Certificate (HSC).
Students currently in Year 8 and 9 can choose 3 electives to study as well as the mandatory subjects. Students in Year 10 can choose all of their subjects which must include an English stream.
Students were supported to make these informed decisions through the Subject Selection night as well as the ‘Speed Subjecting’ that was held last Wednesday.
Nut Aware School
A reminder that Boorowa Central School is a ‘Nut Aware’ School. This means whilst we cannot ban nuts and food items with nuts in them, we discourage all families from sending these food items to school to maximise the safety of all students. This includes all nuts, peanut butter, Nutella and other foods that contain nuts such as protein bars.

Medical Plans
A reminder that students who have an allergy, anaphylaxis or asthma are required to have a medical plan at school. If your child has an Anaphylaxis Plan or Asthma Plan, please bring these to the school so we can update our system and best support the health of your child.
Resolution Room update
The newly established Resolution Room at Boorowa Central School continues to have the desired impact on teaching and learning. The number of negative behaviour entries per day is approximately half of the daily average compared to semester 1. Very few students are being ‘airported’ to the Resolution Room and the disruptive behaviours in the classroom are continuing to decrease.
The small number of students who have been ‘airported’ to the Resolution room this term have followed instructions, resolved their poor choices and successfully rejoined their class after 1 day.
Those students who chose not to follow the instructions given to them by either the faculty leader or a senior executive are suspended. This will continue to occur until the student learns to follow instructions and display our school’s core values of Respect, Responsibility and Participation. The ability to follow instructions, whether you agree with them or not, is an essential skill to learn for successful employment in the future after school. At Boorowa Central School, we will continue to expect this.
I recognise and commend those students who come to school every day and choose to focus on their learning.
NDIS Support
A relatively new business in town is R. Raven Care. This business operates out of the building where Holly’s café used to be in Pudman street.
R Raven Care offers NDIS support services to those people who have a disability. They offer in-home services which include personal care, domestic assistance, transport to appointments, shopping trips, social outing and garden and yard maintenance. At R. Raven Care’s centre, participants can enjoy cooking and baking, life skills, arts and crafts, gardening, music, games and movie afternoons, sensory activities and community outings — all designed to build confidence, connection and independence.
