AFL Interschool Final

Our OLF AFL team has capped off a phenomenal two-week campaign, remaining completely undefeated across two match days to be crowned Paul Kelly Cup Regional Champions!

Day 1: Inter-School Finals at Kareela The journey began at Kareela, where the squad dominated initial pool play with wins against St Mary’s Cathedral, St Mary’s Star of the Sea, and St Bernard’s. After powering through a tough semi-final against Holy Family Menai, the team stepped onto the full field for the final match, capping off an undefeated opening day with a decisive victory over Christian Brothers, Lewisham. Beyond the scoreboard, the players set the standard with outstanding sportsmanship and teamwork.

Day 2: Regional Finals (Two Weeks Later) Returning two weeks later for the Regional Finals, the team took their game to another level despite a physical contest and constant rain. They swept pool matches against Engadine, Lilli Pilli, and Cranbrook before earning a hard-fought semi-final victory against Lewisham. In the grand final rematch against Lilli Pilli, they secured the championship title. Every player gave 100%—slotting impressive goals, fiercely defending the goal square, and transitioning the ball cleanly out from the back line.

Special Thanks A run like this takes a total team effort on and off the field:

  • Coaching & Staff: Massive gratitude to Coach Lonergan, Assistant Coach Mr. Small, and Manager Mrs. Jenkins for their guidance through the opening round, as well as Mr. McNeil for his calm tactical leadership during the finals.

  • Our Supporters: A huge thank you to our wonderful parent community who turned out to cheer—especially those who braved the pouring rain to back the team on match day two!

Next stop: State in September!

Newman Dance Auditions

Our Lady of Fatima is pleased to offer students in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 (in 2027) the opportunity to audition for the Newman Dance Ensemble 2027. This Dance Ensemble is a selective program designed for students who demonstrate a high level of dance ability, performance quality and commitment.

To be eligible to audition, students must currently attend a dance school or participate in regular dance-based training. This may include dance, gymnastics, physie, acrobatics or cheerleading.

If your child is interested in auditioning, please complete the attached form Dance Expression of Interest Form.

As part of the audition process, students are required to:

  1. Submit a dance video that is 1 - 1:30 minutes in length. This can be a video from competitions or a dance piece they have created themselves. The video should highlight their skill, performance quality, and potential.

  2. Attend an in-person audition, where they will learn and perform a short choreographed routine.

Students who are a part of the 2026 Dance Ensemble are not required to submit a video, but they must still attend the in-person audition and fill out this form.

Why are auditions being held early?

The Dance Ensemble auditions are being held earlier than usual to allow us to begin preparing students for their involvement in the musical. Dance Ensemble members will be featured in multiple dance numbers throughout Disney’s Moana JR., and preparing and rehearsing these numbers takes time.

Holding auditions early allows us to select the Dance Ensemble and begin the choreography and preparation process well in advance of the musical. This will give students time to learn their choreography, develop their performance skills and feel confident in their roles within the production.

Please note, the Newman Dance Ensemble is an additional opportunity within the musical. Students do not need to audition for or be a member of the Dance Ensemble to be involved in the musical.

To allow students time to prepare or create their routine, video submissions are due in Week 10, Term 3.

Video Due Date: Thursday, 24th September, 2026 - Week 10, Term 3

In-person audition date: Friday, 16th October 2026 - Week 1, Term 4

Videos can be emailed to: info@olfcaringbah.catholic.edu.au

If the file is too large, videos may also be submitted via USB.
