Sydney Catholic Schools Parent Charter
The intention of this Charter is to outline the principles and expectations that underpin the relationship between parents and schools as we work together to build school communities based on our enduring values of faith, hope and love.
The Charter makes recommendations related to how parents and teachers can work together to support every child’s educational journey in a faith filled environment.
Parents will:
- always treat every member of the community with courtesy and respect
- use positive language about the school, staff, subjects, learning and rules, with their child
- ensure their child completes all assigned homework, study and assessments
- ensure their child attends school each day
- respect the personal and online privacy of every member of the school community
- support the school’s behavioural expectations
- not engage in intimidation, violence, bullying, or harassment of any staff, student or other parents
- honour requests to meet with the school in person to create plans and resolve any issues, misunderstandings or concerns
- support their child’s participation in the liturgical and faith life of the school including the Religious Education curriculum
Tell Them From Me Survey 2026
A school community is thriving when teachers, students, parents and carers are all working together toward a common vision of success. It is important to strengthen relationships and gain a deeper understanding of the whole school community by giving everyone a voice in setting a school’s direction.
Our school uses many forms of data including the Tell Them From Me Survey data annually to design the Annual School Improvement Plan for each school year.
This year’s Tell Them From Me Survey results indicated that parents who completed the survey were generally satisfied with:
Fostering an understanding of Catholic life and culture and promoting relationships with the Parish community
Student engagement in learning including student goal setting and feedback processes
Opportunities for parent communication and involvement in school activities
Student wellbeing programmes including modelling and promoting positive, safe behaviours
The range of Creative Arts and Sporting opportunities
The professional staff and welcoming parent community
Book Week 2026
This week marks the beginning of Children’s Book Week, embracing the theme, Symphony of Stories'. Teachers have organised exciting Literacy activities to bring stories to life and highlight the magic of reading. This week the students have immersed themselves in:
Literacy units inspired by shortlisted books
Vibrant classroom and Library displays
Fun competitions and quizzes
Inspiring author and illustrator visits
Our much‑loved Book Week Character Parade will be held on Friday 28 August, beginning at 9.15am. Families are warmly invited to join us for this special celebration of reading and creativity.
After the parade, parents are welcome to visit their child’s classroom and explore the Book Fair. You may choose to purchase a book for your child or donate a book to our school library — a wonderful way to support a love of reading across our school community.
Father's Day Celebrations at Our School
We’re excited to celebrate Father’s Day this year with two special events:
Wednesday, 2nd September - Fathers Days Stall
An opportunity for students to choose a thoughtful gift for dad or father figure in their life.
Friday, 4th September at 7:45am - Father’s Day Liturgy & Breakfast
Join us for a meaningful morning of reflection and connection

Student Learning Books
On Friday 4th September student Learning Books will be sent home to allow parents the opportunity to celebrate their child’s engagement in learning. Student work samples across the Curriculum Areas serve as a form of formative assessment identifying student strengths and areas for growth.
Parents are encouraged to have a conversation with their child to praise them for their efforts and support them in planning future learning goals to assist them in achieving student outcomes.
Students are to return their books to school on Monday 7th September.
National Child Protection Week 2026
This year’s theme for National Child Protection Week is, “Shifting Conversations into Action.” Communities are encouraged to Take 3 Actions for Child Protection Week, running from 6 - 12 September.
Child protection is everyone’s responsibility. To support a strong, whole‑school approach, the attached flyer outlines two key actions designed to engage students and families in building safe and supportive environments for all children.
Together, these actions promote awareness, strengthen understanding, and encourage meaningful conversations about child safety across our school communities.
Mindquest 2026
NSW Mindquest offers 35 exciting courses for High Potential and Gifted Students from years 1-6.
It is designed to enrich and extend children’s learning through a broad range of experiences that are one or two years beyond students’ year level and the scope of the general curriculum.
These highly successful, fun-filled weekends offer students the opportunity to meet other students of similar interests and abilities.
