BOOK WEEK
What a fantastic Book Week we have had at OPPS!
It was wonderful to see so many of our students and staff getting involved in the celebrations, with some incredible costumes on display for our Book Week Parade. Thank you to everyone who helped make the week such a fun celebration of books and reading.
We are also incredibly grateful for the very generous donations of books to our school. Each donated book has had a special sticker placed inside the cover identifying the student or family who donated it. We will now work through cataloguing all of the books as quickly as possible so we can get them out into our Learning Community libraries for our students to enjoy.
YEAR 4 CAMP
Last week, our Year 4 students headed off to Phillip Island Adventure Camp and had a fantastic time!
Camp provided our students with a great opportunity to challenge themselves, try new activities, spend time with their peers and create some wonderful memories together.
Make sure you check out the Year 4 report later in this newsletter for some additional photos and stories from their camp experience.
DISTRICT ATHLETICS
Yesterday, OPPS attended the District Athletics Finals at Casey Fields, and we could not be prouder of the students who represented our school.
Every student gave their absolute best effort in their events and demonstrated excellent sportsmanship throughout the day. Most importantly, they represented OPPS with pride and were fantastic ambassadors for our school.
A huge congratulations also goes to those students who achieved outstanding results and will now progress to the Division Finals! 🥇🥈🥉
We are currently awaiting the overall school results and look forward to sharing these once they are available.
FATHER'S DAY STALL & BREAKFAST
Our Father’s Day celebrations are happening next week!
Our Prep students will have an opportunity to visit the Father’s Day Stall on Wednesday afternoon, as they will be spending the full day at the farm on Thursday. All other students will have the opportunity to visit the stall on Thursday to purchase a gift for Dad or another special person in their life.
Our Father’s Day Breakfast will kick off at 8:00am on Friday 4 September in the gym. We hope to see as many dads and special people as possible joining us for the morning. Our students have also been busy creating some special gifts that they are very excited to share!
The Father’s Day Stall will be open again during the breakfast for families who would like to make any additional purchases.
We look forward to celebrating with everyone next week!
CURRICULUM DAY – Monday 31 August
A reminder to all families that Monday 31 August (next week) is a student-free Curriculum Day.
Our staff will be onsite undertaking professional learning throughout the day, and students are not required to attend school.
We hope everyone enjoys the long weekend, and we look forward to welcoming all of our students back to school on Tuesday 1 September.
