News from our Family & Faith Educator

A Very Belated Thank You...

Thank you to everyone who wore pyjamas to school at the end of last term and donated items to Vinnies.  All of your incredible donations meant that Year 4-6 students and parents who attended our Vinnies Sleepout were able to make 600 snack packs which we donated to Vinnies Night Patrol. This service consists of two vans, operating seven nights per week excluding New Year's Eve, providing a meal, blankets, toiletries, snacks, hot beverages and most importantly, companionship to people experiencing or at risk of homelessness within the inner city of Sydney. Snack packs containing a mixture of sweet and savoury items are a really valued part of this service and Vinnies hand out hundreds of them every week. Although a small packet of chips, a tin of tuna, a juice popper, noodles and a fruit cup might not seem like a big deal to most people, they are invaluable to those who  are experiencing homelessness or food insecurity.

We really cannot thank you enough for your incredible generosity.

HSC Packs

At the end of last term I asked families if they would like to write a prayer or note for  Year 12 students at St Patrick's College who were preparing to sit their HSC exams and the response was overwhelming. Your messages of support for these students were so beautiful and heartfelt.

During the last week of term, our school captains and I joined teachers and student leaders from St Catherine Laboure, Gymea and Our Lady Star of the Sea, Miranda to deliver the prayer packs to the Year 12 students. They were so grateful for your prayers.

Thank you for taking the time to do this. As a parent of a Year 12 student I know how much the postcards were appreciated.

Please keep all the Year 12 students around the country, who are sitting their HSC in your prayers.

Year 5 - Save The Date

On Saturday 2nd December we would like to invite our Year 5 families to attend the 5.00pm Mass at St Patrick's Church and bring a plate to share with the 2024 Kindy students and their families.

This will be a lovely opportunity for the Year 5 students to meet the 2024 Kindy's before they join us at school next year and for their parents to meet and chat to parents who are already part of our school community.
