National Athletics Championships
I competed at the National Athletics Championships in Canberra with Team Victoria.
I competed in individual shotput and combined events.
In combined, you have to do long jump, 800m, 100m and shot put, then you get points for all of the events and eventually you tally them up to see who gets first, second and third. These events were really difficult and I did my best and ended up coming seventh in shot put and 10th in Combined for my age group in Australia. I did a great job with my effort, support of my teammates, and persistence with overcoming challenges. In the lead up to the events I had an amazing session and got my PB’s in 100m and 800m. In shot put I got a PB of 10.31m.
Thank you for your support and encouragement all throughout this year I would not be able to have achieved this without the school leadership and of course Ms Hocking. A big shout out to my family for their support, especially my Dad – love ya!
Amali C – Year 5
Congratulations Amali on your outstanding achievements in the athletics events!
You should be extremely proud of your efforts!

Junior House Sports
All students in Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 were involved in six events on Thursday morning on Essex Heights Reserve. They trained for these activities in P.E. lessons, so they were confident when participating on the day. Activities included hurdles, baton, tunnel ball and soccer relays plus a throwing activity and sprint races. The students enjoyed receiving a ribbon for their running races.
Thank you to the Year 6 Sports Captains and volunteers who did an amazing job running the events and helping the teachers with scoring. Also, thanks to the staff for their support on the day.
It was lovely to see so many families spectating and cheering on the children.
Congratulations to all students who gained points for their house.
Great effort Nolan for winning the Junior House Sports for 2025:
1st – Nolan on 971 points
2nd – Drysdale on 938 points
3rd – Lindsay on 929 points
4th – Boyd on 824 points
Thanks,
Monique Hocking & Cassie Kemp
