Citizenship Award

The Rotary Club of West Kempsey presents an annual Citizenship Award to a student from each Macleay Valley school. The award celebrates students who demonstrate exceptional commitment to their school and wider community through volunteer work and other commitments. The award also includes a $50 gift voucher.

This year, the award for Kempsey High School goes to Archie Foran.

Archie is a model student who consistently demonstrates exceptional commitment to his school, peers, and the wider community. He is always helpful to his classmates, offering support and encouragement, and sets a positive example through his respectful and responsible behaviour.

Archie’s community involvement lies mainly in Australian Air Force Cadets. He excels in all areas, including leadership, discipline, and teaching drill, where he brings out the best in others with his positive “can-do” attitude. As a valued member of the 312 Squadron, Archie actively participates in community events such as McHappy Day, ANZAC Day, and Remembrance Day, as well as fundraising efforts like the Bunnings BBQ. He has also engaged the RAAF in visiting their bases, along with Holsworthy Army Barricks, demonstrating teamwork and resilience through camping experiences.

His goal is to become a pilot in the RAAF. This year, Archie was the first recipient of the Founders Spirit Award. An award that embodies the values of the cadet program.

Congratulations, Archie.
