Yakult Business Studies

Yakult Business Studies Virtual Incursion
As part of their studies, our Year 12 Business Studies class recently engaged in a virtual tour of Yakult’s factory in Dandenong South, Victoria, giving students firsthand insight into how a global company manages its operations whilst enriching their understanding of the HSC Business Studies unit on Operations.
The program provided students with a comprehensive overview of food manufacturing processes, and by connecting this information to the HSC Operations unit, students were able to see how theory translates into practice. They observed how Yakult applies operations management principles such as efficiency, quality assurance, and sustainability. With the tour tailored to syllabus requirements, concepts such as production processes, technology in operations, and corporate social responsibility were reinforced. With the students exploring the factory environment in real time, there were plenty of opportunities for questions and contributing their ideas to deepen student understanding.
This tour demonstrated how businesses integrate scientific innovation and support for other Australian businesses into their operations. For our students, this experience provided a practical lens on the strategic decisions businesses make to remain competitive and socially responsible.
Kempsey High School is proud to provide students with opportunities that connect classroom learning to real-world practice. Experiences like the Yakult factory tour not only prepare students for their HSC exams but also broaden their perspective on how businesses operate in a global context.
We congratulate our Year 12 Business Studies students for their enthusiastic participation and look forward to more industry-linked learning experiences in the future.
