Is Work Experience Important?
What are the main barriers to finding a placement? Real-world learning in a workplace can be transformative for school students. But some young people have difficulty finding a placement on their own. This could be because of challenges such as disability, money, family or other issues. Some schools, students, families and carers need help to connect with employers and arrange work-based learning.
The Victorian Government is asking for views and ideas from schools, students, families and employers on how to support meaningful work experience placements and other work-based learning.
This will help improve how the School to Work program helps arrange placements for students who need support.
To share your thoughts, please complete this short survey by Tuesday 10 March 2026.
