DO THE RIGHT THING, PUT IT IN THE (RIGHT) BIN!

For our upcoming Welcome Picnic we kindly ask ripper families to use the correct bin for any leftover litter.  We will have the regular 3 bin system available on the night and we'd greatly appreciate any care to make sure the right waste goes in the right bin (or goes home with families for appropriate disposal).  We can't emphasise enough how important it is to set the right example that our little rippers will then emulate in the school yard and beyond!

Soft plastic recycling is back!  

If you ever get that cringe feeling seeing your red bin at home get filled with soft plastic packaging, you might like to know that soft plastic recycling is back in Melbourne, with some pilot supermarkets taking collections of clean soft plastics at no charge near the front counter.  Look out for the big soft bin inside your local supermarket, with Woolworths seemingly leading initial deployment (store list linked here which includes some Woolworths Metros outlets).
