Principal's Message
What a wonderful and busy month August has been at Seaford Park Primary School!
One of the highlights was celebrating our Preps reaching 100 Days of School. It was fantastic to see the excitement and pride on their faces as they celebrated this important milestone. When we think back to those first few weeks of Prep and compare them with the confident, capable learners we see today, the growth is remarkable. Our pyjama celebrations and special activities made it a memorable day for our youngest students and their families.
We also enjoyed an action-packed Book Week, celebrating the joy of reading, imagination and storytelling. From our fantastic Book Week Parade to the Book Week Performance and Author/Illustrator workshops, it was wonderful to see students and staff embracing the week with such enthusiasm. Thank you to our families for the incredible effort that went into costumes and for helping us make these experiences so special for our students.
While events such as these are lots of fun, they also reflect something that is incredibly important to us at Seaford Park, creating a school where learning and wellbeing go hand in hand. We want our students to achieve academically, but equally, we want them to feel happy, safe, connected, included and excited to come to school each day.
Our recently received 2026 Attitudes to School Survey (AtoSS) results from our Year 4–6 students provide some wonderful evidence that this focus is making a difference.
Our students reported the following categories as being well above similar schools, our local network and state results:
84% positive endorsement for Effective Classroom Behaviour
86% for Effective Teaching Time,
80% for Stimulated Learning,
84% Life Satisfaction – 8 percentage points higher than similar schools, 9 points higher than our network and 6 points higher than the state.
91% Advocate at School
89% Respect for Diversity, 11% higher than our network, 10% higher than state and 8% higher than similar schools.
88% Managing Bullying, 11% higher than our network, 10% higher than state and 9% higher than similar schools.
89% Not Experiencing Bullying, 9% higher than similar schools, 6% higher than our network and 5% higher than state
Importantly, our results for attitudes to attendance, motivation and interest, sense of confidence, sense of connectedness, sense of inclusion, and student voice and agency were also all above similar schools, our network and the state.
These results are something our whole school community can be incredibly proud of. They tell us that our students are not only learning in calm, productive and engaging classrooms, but that they feel connected, included, respected and supported at school.
There is always more work to do, and we will continue to listen carefully to student feedback and look for ways to strengthen their experience at school. We have already begun the process of organising student forums to provide our students with an additional opportunity to share their thoughts on how we can make Seaford Park a better place for them. However, these results provide a wonderful affirmation of our commitment to developing happy, healthy and confident young people who are engaged in their learning and feel that they belong.
Most importantly, these results represent the voices and experiences of our students. I am incredibly proud that their feedback reflects a school where students feel happy, safe, connected and included, while being supported and encouraged to learn, grow and achieve their best.
