Principal's Report

by Katelyn Joyce, Principal

It has been another busy and rewarding few weeks at Syndal South Primary School, with students embracing a wide range of learning and extra-curricular opportunities. Registrations are now open for both the 2026 ICAS Assessments and the Science Talent Search.  These are both great opportunities for our students to extend themselves and we encourage students to get involved. All of the extra curricular activities offered at SSPS provide valuable opportunities to extend thinking, challenge problem-solving skills and nurture curiosity. Participation in extra-curricular activities plays an important role in helping students discover their strengths, build confidence and develop a lifelong love of learning.

We also wish our wonderful aerobics team the very best of luck as they head into their first competition for 2026 this Saturday. I was incredibly impressed to watch the teams present their routines to their families for the first time last Monday night. Their commitment, teamwork and enthusiasm have been outstanding, and we are incredibly proud of their efforts already.

Last Friday’s Cross Country event was a fantastic display of perseverance, sportsmanship and school spirit. The weather was warm but that did not slow down our athletes!  It was wonderful to see so many students challenging themselves and supporting one another—thank you to Mr Riley and all of our Yr 3-6 staff, Parents Association and families who helped make the day such a success.

As we approach Mother’s Day, we extend our warmest wishes to all the special women in our community. We look forward to celebrating together at our upcoming Mother’s Day Stall and Breakfast.  If you would like to attend the breakfast but have not yet register please do so here.
