Happy Mothers’ Day!
We want to wish all the mothers and special friends of the Scotsburn community a huge happy Mothers’ Day. The role you play in your children’s lives can never be underestimated and we hope that you were made to feel very special. We truly appreciate all that you do to support your children across their learning journey.
Last Friday, we had a beautifully relaxed Mothers’ Day breakfast at the campus, with students taking orders for their mothers and making them something to eat as well as a warm drink. This has been a tradition for quite some time at Scotsburn, and we love it!
SC2 Raising Rarity Excursion
Last Thursday, SC2 headed off to the Ballarat Botanical Gardens with the Buninyong STEM Scholarship students to learn all about rare native plant species as part of Scotsburn and Buninyong’s involvement in the Raising Rarity Schools Conservation Program. The excursion was the first part of the project, titled Species Discovery Day.
The species that we will be assisting to grow and harvest seeds is called Leucochrysum albicans subspecies tricolor, more commonly known as the Hoary Sunray.
Over the next month, we will be setting up four garden beds ready to plant. Our Scotsburn students will be involved in the whole process, from planting and caring for the Hoary Sunray, to the final stage of harvesting.
We can’t wait to get stuck into it and share our progress across the year with everyone!
Scotsburn Assembly this Friday
This Friday we have our next Scotsburn Assembly in the shed at 3pm. Our Grade 6 boys are doing a wonderful job hosting these assemblies and are continuing to develop their confidence and leadership skills. See you there!
Grade 4 Anglesea Camp
Our Grade 4s this week will receive information and medical forms for their upcoming camp to Anglesea in Week 8. Mr Morgan will be joining them at camp this year and he can’t wait! Please return forms as soon as possible so that the organising staff can get everything in place for this awesome experience!
Toastie Tuesdays!
Toastie Tuesdays will continue every Tuesday, for the hefty price of $1! Don’t forget to send a gold coin on Tuesdays for those that would like a Toastie.
As the Winter months approach and the cooler weather settles in, we will be getting back to also having $1 hot chocolates on Fridays as well. We will aim to get this back up and running in the next few weeks.
Morning Start Times
As we know with our new daily schedule, our morning sessions are jam packed with learning and we aim to begin our lessons right at 9:00am. We do a great job with this, however please continue to do your best to have your children arrive by 8:50am, so that they can get their morning routine jobs completed and be ready to start the day at 9:00am.
If you are running a little late for drop off, don’t forget to phone down to the Buninyong office or the Scotsburn phone so that we can update our roll marking.

Thanks so much for your assistance with this!
Scotsburn Intercampus Travel At times, Scotsburn students will be transported between campuses in order to attend classes, assemblies, special days and events. On most occasions, transport required through the day will be by bus and occasionally private car for smaller groups of students. Parents may be asked to drop off or collect from the Buninyong campus if sessions are at the beginning or ending of a day. We will always let you know of any upcoming travel arrangements via our newsletter, Compass, or via phone for smaller, more specific travel arrangements. If you ever have any questions or concerns regarding intercampus travel, please contact your child’s teacher. |
