Millgrove Seniors
In Term 3, we are exploring letters and diaries as our text types. We have started by writing modern day examples, including both realistic and fictional pieces. In the coming weeks, students will write from different historical perspectives, such as a convict or another person travelling on the First Fleet or living in the new settlement.

Dear Diary,
You wouldn’t believe what happened to me today! Firstly, I woke up not in the morning but in the afternoon! I did not think anything about it, I just thought that I slept in, it was a good sleep by the way. So I just got out of my bed to enjoy the afternoon, I guess. So I went to the shops because somehow I had ran out of food! So I went to the shops, nothing. I went to a cafe, out of stock! I guess I will just starve.
Dinner time came and I returned to the shops thinking that there will be no food but I was wrong, fruits and veggies were there, fresh like it was harvested and delivered this morning but that was impossible. I go to the cafe. The food looks freshly made this morning but that is impossible, as when I went that afternoon, it was sold out. So I wondered who are the chefs, who are the managers from lunch time? I guess I will not know today. But when I woke up it was all a dream. I got out of bed and it was morning. I went to the cafe. The food was already made. That was a weird dream I had.

Dear Diary,
You wouldn't believe what happened to me today! I woke up in the morning thinking it was early, so I turned over trying to go back to sleep and as soon as I closed my eyes my alarm went off! Crazy.
I got up, ate my breakfast and rode off to school. As I got past the second house on the street I saw a dog walking around the front of house three and one wearing a pink vest with unicorns on it! The dog’s fur colour did NOT match the vest. No wonder it left. It looked like a four year old got into their mum's makeup bag and decided to play ‘ fashion show’ with the pug. Gross.
As I got on the trail the sun was having a blast! And I mean that in a good and a bad way. It was so intense at the start, then it started dimming, then intense again, and so on, until I got off the trail.
When I got to school I thought, "Where is everybody?” Then I remembered that it was a public holiday and I rode off back home, as I was on the trail I thought, "wasn't the public holiday meant to be on Thursday? Maybe I was too early?” I looked at my knee and remembered that I fell off and spent a while trying to think of what to do, and then I fed the ducks, so I couldn't have been early, but still, I wonder.
Luckily, when I got home my stepmum was still there because she had chores to do and was still asleep, so I decided to make her breakfast in bed. I made pancakes that looked like a haunted rooster, at least that's what I think it looks like because I dont actually know what a haunted rooster looks like, but I imagine that it looks like these pancakes.
After breakfast I called my uncle for a quick chat about how to make pancakes because -as my family calls him- he is a MASTER of pancakes and makes the best ones on Christmas. He should open up a shop! Anyway I'm getting off track, so he ran me through how to make pancakes correctly and I didn’t understand so I had an egg and bacon sandwich instead- result!
For lunch I had mac and cheese and I might have put extra cheese in but who would blame me, you know you would have done the same, because who likes watery mac and cheese? Anyway I basically just sat down and re-watched Harry Potter for the rest of the day and it was great.
And that was my crazy day. Not my craziest but it certainly was a good contender! I hope you enjoyed it! Not like anyone’s reading my diary but who cares, goodbye!

Dear Diary,
You wouldn’t believe what happened to me today! I was walking down the street when suddenly a massive boulder came rolling down, crushing the driving cars and hurting people.
I was only walking to the butcher’s shop for sausages and lamb when this happened, so I bolted out my hammer (like Thor, for some reason) and smashed the boulder. The people were cheering for me, saying I’m a ‘lifesaver’ when I just smashed the boulder. I was still walking to the butcher’s shop and I arrived. But something’s wrong: where’s the butcher? I couldn’t seem to find him anywhere, until suddenly, a goop monster emerged from behind the bench, screaming at me. I reacted quickly, throwing everything I had at it because its type is actually one that destroys the environment. I had stunned the ‘goop’ monster, so I threw it out the shop. But still, where is the butcher? I heard a faint voice, “Hello? Does anyone want fresh meat?” outside. Apparently, he moved to a new shop. I was dumbfounded by this, since I always knew the path to the butcher’s shop was the old one. So I came to the new shop, and asked for sausages and lamb. He gave it to me and for some reason, it was free. I left the shop and went home. I started the barbecue and put the things on. I made a big mistake. When I tried to put olive oil on my lamb (it just would not come out), the bottle slipped out of my hands, broke, and spilled all over the lamb. It had caused a fire, burning my lamb and slightly charring my sausages (oops). The lamb is now inedible, so I threw it away for the snails to eat. I still enjoyed my sausages happily, though.

Dear Diary,
You wouldn't believe what happened to me today! I tried to hide my face at a pony club and I got spotted by my friend. I ran to the bushes and hid in a hollow log. When I got to the log there was a snake inside. I ran to the pump track and borrowed someone’s bike to escape.

Dear Diary,
You wouldn't believe what happened to me today! I got a unicorn and my unicorn dropped me off at school. After school my unicorn picked me up and dropped me off at home.
When it was lunch time we went to the park. We had a lovely afternoon at the park. After lunch we went home and we had a nap. For dinner we had fish and chips.
Before bed I called my unicorn to come to her bed and we went to sleep.

Dear Diary,
You wouldn’t believe what happened to me today! I woke up in a sandy rocky land with 2 water tanks. After waking up I saw a big hungry Tiger running towards me and I was like ‘Oh no’. I noticed there was a cliff behind me, so as soon as the tiger touched my bed, I jumped off my bed, then the bed and the tiger fell down the cliff. I forgot my lion was there so I jumped off the cliff to save him but he attacked the tiger after 1 minute. We landed on the ground and my bed fell into pieces. R.I.P. my bed, but anyways the lion and the big hungry tiger were fighting while saying stupid words. The lion was a baby and only 1 year old and still won the fight. A plane came out of nowhere and the people riding it picked us up and went to the USA. While going there, a dinosaur fell onto the plane and we crashed in Mars. While I was eating a Mars bar, my other half of my Mars bar got soggy because we landed in the water. Luckily there were life jackets because my stupid self forgot how to swim. We were in Australia somehow. My brother woke me up and I woke up in real life tired. I was like awww man, I was having a crazy dream, then I had pancakes for breakfast and then watched TV. I wish my brother did not wake me up because I wanted to swim to the USA so I could have Mr Beast be in my dream. Well that’s too bad but at least I got to have pancakes for breakfast.

Dear Diary,
You wouldn’t believe what happened to me today! I figured out how to make dinosaurs breed and to make the incubator work so I can breed my dinosaurs. I’ll make an army of Pyroraptors, to wipe out the Therizinosaurus, because they wiped out my original Velociraptor pack. I had to steal the pyroraptor eggs too, I think I have 12 or 10.

Dear Diary,
You wouldn't believe what happened to me today! It’s Saturday and when I woke up, I wanted to play the sims on my xbox. I made a new game in it until my sister woke up. She wanted to play Minecraft. So we played Minecraft together until we had an argument that my house was too close to hers. I moved and I was still too close so she killed me (in the game) and took my bed. I said she had no right to do that so I left.
I wanted to turned off the controller but I accidentally turned off the xbox. She got really mad and I said ‘I’m sorry’, but she said ‘no you are not sorry’.
I got embarrassed and went to my room. I came down about an hour later when I was going to the shops with my sister and my Dad. I bought my sister something and she wasn’t mad anymore, so we watched the Cat In The Hat and we had dinner. Now I’m going to sleep.

Dear Diary,
You wouldn’t believe what happened to me today!
There was a very bad accident at the Wesburn pump track. The ambulance people were involved but the person was ok. He just cracked his head and needed stitches, so they went to the hospital. It was so sad to see… I said I was sorry for crashing into him but he did not forgive me.
