Mr Irwin's Message

Hello Families and welcome to this week’s newsletter.
Attitudes to School Survey
This week our Year 4-6 students will complete the annual Attitudes to School Survey (AtoSS). The AtoSS survey provides valuable insight into students' perceptions of school and allows us to respond to any issues that may arise via the survey.
The AtoSS is a voluntary student survey offered by the Department of Education every year to help schools and the department understand students' experiences of school. We will ask your child about their thoughts and feelings about their school, their learning, relationships with other students, resilience, bullying, health and wellbeing, physical activity, and life in general.
Young people enjoy having a say! This survey has been running for nearly 20 years and helps schools plan programs and activities to improve your child's engagement with school, their wellbeing and their learning. The survey data also helps the Department of Education understand how to improve student learning.
This survey aligns with work we are already seeking to embed weekly in both the middle and senior school as part of our Mental Health in Primary Schools initiative. Students are regularly completing a check in that provides information to their teachers about how they are coping emotionally at school, along with any concerns they have related to experiencing or witnessing bullying. This is allowing us to monitor any wellbeing and bullying concerns students may have in a bid to proactively monitor these.
Semester Reports
Semester Reports will be due to be published to Sentral on Wednesday June 24th from 4:30pm. A reminder to families who don’t regularly use Sentral that it may be of benefit to check your access prior to this date to ensure you can read and view your child’s report.
Early in Term 3 Student Led Conferences will run where students will showcase learning artefacts from Semester 1.
As we get into the final few weeks of term make sure you check our dates page so you don’t miss out on any of the fun, including our final assembly for the term.
Bye for now and have a great week.
