Last Tuesday, 28th July, the Prep students celebrated our 100th day of school. We marked this very exciting milestone with the theme 100 days brighter.
Throughout the day, we celebrated all the hard work our students have achieved so far this year and they participated in different activites including making 100-day crowns and threading 100 fruit loops. We finished off our day with a disco after lunch! All the students and teachers had a fantastic day. Well done to the Preps for achieving this milestone at school, the teachers and support staff are very proud!
This term, the Preps have been introduced to Non-fiction texts. We have been studying these during our Text Study sessions. We have looked at big books, digital texts and posters and what is the same and different about these and how they can show us information. Students have been writing each day about different animals and developing their sounding-out skills.

Last Friday, 31st of July, 3/4A came down to visit our Prep grades before assembly. They have been writing narratives to share with our Preps. It was fantastic to see the leaderships skills by our 3/4 students and the Preps loved listening to the stories.

One of our topics that we have been focusing on during wellbeing sessions is developing empathy. Our STEM challenge this week in our wellbeing session was to design a bridge using cardboard and lego blocks. Students had to work in a team and model turn-taking, listening skills, sharing and using empathetic language to the people in their group. It was fantastic to see the students working together to design a bridge strong enough to hold some toy animals!
