What's been happening this week?

5/6 DRAMA
This week, the Grade 5/6 students performed their scripted plays for the class. They thoroughly enjoyed sharing their hard work and creativity with their peers. The performances showcased student’s confidence, teamwork, and expressive skills, and it was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and effort shine through.
SUSTAINABILITY
The 1/2's have been learning about sustainability in science this term. They chose a topic of interest (recycling, saving water, electricity etc), did their own research, made an engaging poster, wrote cue cards and presented to the 3/4 classes this week.
Our students were so proud of their creative posters and their courage really showed when speaking to the 3/4 students about their chosen topic. We are so proud of them showing such ambition with this project. And thank you to the 3/4 classes for showing compassion and interest in our younger student's hard work.
5/6 PRESENTATIONS
This week, the 5/6 students have been presenting their information reports on Australian historical events that occurred between 1800-1900.
MATHS AND MONEY
The Year 3/4 students have been exploring Money in Mathematics through engaging, real-world learning experiences. Using catalogues from local stores, students participated in a mock shopping activity where they selected items, calculated the total cost of their purchases, and applied their money skills in a practical context. Some students also extended their learning by calculating and counting back change, demonstrating their growing confidence with financial mathematics.
HOOPTIME TRAINING BEGINS!
The Year 3/4 students started training for Hoop time this afternoon. We practised the basic skills of dribbling, passing and shooting. We are looking forward to Hoop time early next term!
5/6 GALA DAY
Our 5/6 Students enjoyed Gala Day today. They competed in netball, soccer and t-ball. Congratulations to the t-ball team who were overall winners!
STATE SCHOOL SPECTACULAR
The State Schools Spectacular students attended another hub rehearsal in preparation for their performance in August at John Cain Arena. They enjoyed learning and practising the dances from start to finish, building their confidence and performance skills. The students showed great enthusiasm and teamwork as they worked towards this exciting event.
