Auslan

I am incredibly proud of our Year 3 – 6 students for the confidence they have shown in signing about themselves this term. Year 5 and 6 students have successfully filmed and submitted videos covering their names, ages, family members, pets, and hobbies. While we have previously focused on game-based signing, this move to digital submissions marks a significant milestone in their learning.
Our Year 3 and 4 students are currently catching up on their video tasks, as several sessions were rescheduled due to NAPLAN and Twilight Sports. Meanwhile, early finishers in Years 5 and 6 are moving on to an exciting project: creating digital Auslan posters featuring modern technology and gadgets.
Our Year 1 and 2 students are focusing on ‘question and answer’ structures, emphasizing the importance of eye contact and response. In line with our theme on technology and modern gadgets, they have been practicing phrases such as, ‘how many smartwatches do you have?’
In our junior years, the Preps have settled in beautifully, learning to express themselves through the phrase “I love/have my (family member of their choice)” during interactive board games.
It is hard to believe how quickly this term has flown by!
