Term One Concludes Thursday 2nd April (1pm)

Dear Families,

At Holy Family we believe that every child is capable of learning, growing and contributing positively to our community. For this reason, we hold high expectations for all students in both their learning and their behaviour.

High expectations mean encouraging each child to do their best, to persevere when learning becomes challenging, and to treat others with respect and kindness. In the classroom, students are supported to engage fully in their learning, listen carefully, contribute their ideas and take pride in their work. At the same time, we guide students to make positive choices that help create calm, safe and respectful learning environments for everyone.

Clear expectations and consistent routines help children feel secure and confident. When students know what is expected of them, they are more able to focus on learning, develop independence and experience success.

We are grateful for the partnership we share with families in reinforcing these expectations. When school and home work together, children receive a consistent message that learning matters, effort matters and the way we treat others matters.

Thank you to our families for your ongoing support as we continue to make small adjustments to strengthen learning opportunities for every child.

Catholic Education Week

The theme for Catholic Education Week 2026 is - Christ beside me: Walking in the footsteps of Saint Patrick.

This year’s theme celebrates the significance of Saint Patrick, the patron saint of our local Church in Melbourne.

Last year, as part of our Jubilee Year and Catholic Education Week, a striking new icon and depiction of Saint Patrick was unveiled and blessed by Archbishop Peter A Comensoli in front of thousands of students, educators, and special guests.

Catholic schools across Melbourne play a significant role in nurturing the learning, faith and wellbeing of young people. As part of this wider community, Holy Family is proud to contribute to the rich tradition of Catholic education that supports students to grow academically, spiritually and socially.

Catholic education places the dignity of every child at the centre of learning. In our classrooms, students are encouraged to strive for excellence, to care for one another and to develop a deep sense of responsibility for the world around them. Faith, learning and community are closely connected, helping children to understand that their gifts can be used in service of others.

At Holy Family, we see this lived out each day through the commitment of our teachers, the enthusiasm of our students and the support of our families. Together we create a learning environment where students are encouraged to be curious, compassionate and hopeful.

Father Justel Visit

I would like to thank Father Justel for making time in his busy schedule to meet with our Year 4 and Prep students this week.

It was wonderful to see the interaction between Father Justel and the students. Our Prep students were so excited to share their learning and items from their class prayer table with him.

Open Morning

Thank you to our parents who attended our Open Morning on Wednesday. I hope this opportunity provided you with a glimpse into your child's school day at Holy Family.

We will provide this opportunity at least once a term for parents/carers.

Sacrament of Reconciliation

Our Year 4 students are continuing their preparation to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Tuesday 24th March.
