MCMA
Macleod College Music Academy were invited to perform at the Victorian Education Excellence Awards. This event is held at the Regent Plaza and is a celebration to recognise outstanding Government School Teachers. The Deputy Premier and Minster for Education and Minister for Medical Research the Hon. Ben Carrol MP was in presence at the evening. He acknowledged Macleod College and was gracious enough to shake the hand of some of our students.
The students represented the College well and displayed the three school values Achieve, Respect & Connect. Playing three outstanding sets were: Harry Barnes, Benny Priestly, Mackenzie Hawkins, Tommy Hanger, Declan Keenan, Daniel Every, Luke Every and Kieran He.
Students were provided with a feast and were left hungry for more. It was an excellent opportunity for them to learn what employment as a professional musician entails. Being able to perform on time and on cue with seconds notice but with undefined downtime in between.
Achieve: Utter commitment to the song and ensemble.
Respect: of each other and acknowledgement when something unbelievable is performed.
