Religious Education News

It has been a wonderful fortnight in the faith life of our school community. We recently celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation, an important milestone for our Year 5 and 6 students as they continue to grow in faith and deepen their relationship with God. We congratulate our candidates once again and thank their families, our parish community and the staff who supported them throughout their preparation.
Gospel Reflection – 22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time
This Sunday’s Gospel from Matthew 16:21–27 challenges us to think about what it truly means to follow Jesus. Jesus tells his disciples that his journey will involve suffering and sacrifice, and invites them to “take up their cross and follow me.”
For us, this is not simply about carrying difficulties. It is an invitation to put aside our own wants at times and choose the path of love, service, courage and generosity. In a school community, we see this lived out in the small things: helping someone who is struggling, including others, forgiving, standing up for what is right and putting the needs of others before our own. Jesus reminds us that a life centred on love and service is ultimately a life well lived.
Father’s & Special Friends Day Mass
We look forward to welcoming our fathers, grandfathers, special friends and families to our Father’s & Special Friends Day Mass tomorrow. This is always a beautiful opportunity to come together as a school and parish community and to give thanks for the important people who nurture, encourage and support our children.
We hope you can join us as we celebrate these special relationships and give thanks for the many ways they enrich the lives of our students. We look forward to seeing you at Mass tomorrow.
