Congratulations 

It is with great pride that we congratulate Ian Gardner on being awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in recognition of his outstanding service and contribution to the community. Ian has been a valued supporter of Syndal South Primary School students for many years, generously sharing his time, expertise and passion as a mentor in our Solar Program. A retired professional mechanical engineer, Ian brings a remarkable breadth of experience from a career spanning more than two decades across production, military, aerospace and commercial engineering. His expertise includes forging and heat treatment, machining, plant and process design, and management. In addition to his long-standing commitment to our students, Ian has served as Treasurer and a committee member of the VMSVC for more than 29 years.

We are incredibly fortunate to have benefited from Ian's knowledge, encouragement and dedication, and we warmly congratulate him on this very well-deserved national honour.
