We had a great attendance at our first Father's Day Breakfast.  We hope all the dad's enjoyed it.

Students enjoyed shopping and purchasing fantastic gifts from the Father's Day Stall.  We hope all the dad's enjoyed their special gifts.

Our Year 5/6 students had an exciting day out, catching the train into Richmond to watch the San Francisco 49ers train at AAMI Park.  Each student also received a 49ers shirt, bag and hat, so we may have a few more San Francisco supporters around school.

As part of National Science Week celebrations, Mad About Science visited to perform  Cosmic Chemistry Show.

Students participated in the Responsible Pet Ownership program.  As part of the program Pam and Clover taught students when and how to approach dogs.

Year 2 students had the wonderful opportunity to visit the Policy Academy.  As part of their visit students practised by retelling their experience and answering questions from detectives-in-training about our Charlie Silly Pants Incursion.  Students also had the chance to listen to a Highway Patrol Officer and get an up-close look at a police car and motorbike.  They practised marching, raced against police officers and even had their running speed recorded.

From the Art Room

This term Foundations focused on collage - torn paper hearts, Elmer mosaics, shape houses and colourful ladybirds.

Year 1 and 2 students focused on collage and construction - pets in a woven bed and tissue paper collage inspired by Eric Carle's illustrations in 'Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?'.

Year 3 and 4 students focused on threads and textiles. Year 3 students took inspiration fom an NGV Aboriginal artist's workshop to create their own woven pieces.  Both year levels created woven sculptures to represent the environment around them.  Students made worry dolls and worked cooperatively to make mini art galleries.

Year 5 and 6 students focused on art appreciation and threads and textiles.  They began the Term selecting and commenting on their favourite NAIDOC Week poster from the past 50 years.  They they moved onto dry needle felting and painting and sewing calico textile artwork.
