  • Deconstruct cultural and scientific disciplines
  • Gain a visceral understanding of aerospace physics and EV technology
  • Develop an ability to analyse complex international relations and the role of diplomacy in a divided world

Proposed details (subject to confirmation):

  • Destination:  Seoul, Busan, Daejong and other historical and scientific locations
  • Dates: 15th September 2027 (Week 10 into September holidays) or 23rd June 2027 TBC
  • Inclusions: Return flights, shared accommodation, transport, most meals, entry into museums and other locations, and supervision by school staff.

2027 Year 8 Innovate Academy – Expressions of Interest

Expressions of Interest are now being invited from current Year 7 students interested in joining the Innovate Academy in 2027.

The Innovate Academy provides a challenging and engaging learning environment for students who demonstrate high levels of academic achievement and a strong commitment to learning.

Students wishing to apply will need to complete an Expression of Interest (EOI) form and undertake a testing process in Term 4. Student placement will be determined using a range of evidence, including test results, academic achievement throughout 2026, and behaviour and effort grades at Balmoral State High School.

Importantly, current Innovate Academy students will also need to re-apply for 2027. Being part of the current program does not automatically guarantee placement in the 2027 class.

EOI information and application forms have been sent to all Year 7 families and students, with the EOI form and additional information attached.

If you have any further questions, please contact Ashley Boyd, Head of Junior Secondary, at aboyd94@eq.edu.au.
