Hello from 5L

What a wonderfully busy and productive term we have had in 5L!
One of our highlights was our visit to EMC, where students got a taste of what life in secondary school might be like. We took part in a Science lesson, creating mini rockets while exploring solids, liquids and gases, as well as a THRIVE lesson where students created a Web of Support. We also enjoyed a PE lesson and heard about some of the exciting programs and opportunities available at EMC.
Throughout the term, we have worked with our Prep buddies to create dioramas of a chosen animal habitat. Students gathered materials from around the school and worked together to bring their habitats to life.
During Anti-Bullying Week, our Year 5 students took on a leadership role by teaching Prep and Year 1 students a THRIVE lesson about teasing, bullying and treating others with kindness.
We also finished reading our Term 3 class novel, The Last Bear. Students reflected on what they enjoyed about the book and loved that it was both educational and entertaining. Students drew their favourite scene as part of their review.
Last week we celebrated Book Week with fantastic costumes, a visit from local author Danielle Binks, daily readings of shortlisted books and fun literacy activities.
What a jam-packed and memorable term in 5L!
