🎨 Help needed for 2026 Girton ArtFest Exhibition!

With over 800 student artworks set to be featured this September in GIrton's annual ArtFest Exhibition, we’re seeking volunteers to help frame each piece and bring the exhibition to life.

This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to one of Girton’s most celebrated events and connect with other members of our community.

No experience? No problem! ArtFest Director and Junior School Teacher of Arts, Ms Nic James will be onsite to provide hands-on guidance and training in the initial stages.

Change to opening hours: Second-Hand Uniform Shop

Dear Girton Families,

We would like to advise of a change to the operating hours of the Second-Hand Uniform Shop (SHUS), located at Junior School on Mackenzie Street.

Unfortunately, the Girton Parents' Foundation (GPF) and Friends of Junior School (FOJS) Committees have had to make the difficult decision to reduce opening hours due to a shortage of volunteers. This is the first time in almost 10 years we have been required to reduce our service, and it has not been a decision made lightly.

Effective immediately, SHUS will operate on Fridays only from 8:15am – 9:00am.

We understand that SHUS is a valuable resource for many families at Girton. However, services such as SHUS can only continue to operate when supported by volunteers. We also recognise that families have busy schedules, but we encourage anyone who may be able to assist, even occasionally, to consider volunteering. Community-run services rely on the generosity and support of our families.

If you are available to help, we welcome registrations here: https://volunteersignup.org/3YC98.

We would also like to clarify that the day-to-day operation and management of SHUS is undertaken entirely by the GPF and FOJS Committees. The School's Administration and Front Office team are not involved in the running of SHUS and are unable to assist with enquiries regarding stock, donations, opening hours or volunteer rosters.

We thank our wonderful volunteers, past and present, for their continued support and dedication. Without them, SHUS simply could not operate.

Kind regards,

Friends of Junior School (FOJS) Committee
