The rain over the past few weeks has been appreciated in the garden space. Produce is starting to grow, and we hope it will be a bumper season. We have also teamed up with Agriculture Victoria who have asked schools with kitchen-gardens to participate in a tomato potato psyllid surveillance program. This pest was first detected in Victoria in 2024 and has the potential to carry a bacteria which would devastate potato crops (a biohazard that is currently not found in Victoria). We will leave the trap in place for two weeks before sending it off for analysis. Hopefully the results will reassure us that there is no current threat to our crops.
