Lent Begins!

Gallery Image

All students took part in Ash Wednesday liturgies this week to mark the beginning of Lent. Secondary school students gathered in their house groups and the Primary students attended a liturgy led by Fr Adi. Lent remains deeply important today because it invites us to pause, reflect, and realign our lives with what truly matters. In a world filled with distractions and constant activity, Lent offers the gift of simplicity and spiritual renewal. Through prayer, fasting, and acts of generosity, we rediscover compassion, humility, and gratitude. It reminds us that transformation begins within and that hope is born from repentance and faith. Lent challenges us to let go of what burdens us and to make space for God’s love to act in our lives and in the lives of others.

Opening Liturgy

It was wonderful together as a college together in the St Mel's church last week for our opening liturgy to mark the start of the school year. During the celebration we commissioned our college captains and presented badges to our Year 12 students. Thank you to Bek Ryan and Cindy Luksch for organising the liturgy and all the students who took place part.

Sandhurst Leadership Gathering

Last week I attended the Sandhurst leadership gathering in Bendigo attended by school principals and Sandhurst leaders. The most significant component of our gathering was the launch of the Sandhurst Education Cultural Covenant. This agreement, which will be unpacked with all staff in the coming months. Explicitly explains the fundamentals of being a staff member in Catholic Education Sandhurst; Why do we exist? What do we do? How will we behave? How will we succeed?

Anniversary of the National Apology

Myself, Leonie Scott (Koori Education Worker) and a number of our students attended the Shepparton breakfast to commemorate the anniversary of the national apology last week. The event, which is attended by many schools highlights the significance of this day for our nation.
