School Council Update

The School Council met last night for its May meeting, the first since March and the second meeting for the year. We were delighted to welcome the Apple Fair Committee, who presented an overview of this year’s fair, including the financial outcomes, community feedback, survey results, and overall reflections on the event. Once again, the Apple Fair was a tremendous success, and we extend our sincere thanks to the entire Committee for their incredible work, dedication, and efforts in delivering such a fantastic day for our community.
In addition to regular reporting from sustainability, inclusion, facilities, and curriculum committees, Council members were also presented with the early NAPLAN results, which are once again very strong overall. In addition, Council received an overview of the Department of Education policy regarding therapy in schools, along with an explanation of the school’s processes in this area. Thank you to Ryan for guiding the Council through these important details.
Finance remains an important focus of every School Council meeting. Alongside the usual financial oversight, Council reviewed voluntary contribution levels to date. Thank you to all families who have contributed so far this year.
The next School Council meeting will be held on 16 June, and we look forward to providing another update following the meeting.
