In the Spotlight

We would like to warmly welcome Melissa McKeegan to the OGPS team.

Melissa will be stepping into the Chaplain role while Rhonda is away on leave. We are excited to have her join us and look forward to the support and care she will bring to our school community.

Hi everyone,

I’m Melissa and I am very excited to be working with you all while Rhonda is away having a very exciting holiday. I have been fortunate to meet many of you already either in your classroom or in the playground, but for those that I am yet to meet, please come up and say “hi” whenever you can.  I will be working at OGPS until the end of term, so plenty of time for us to catch up!

Here are some things you may like to know about me:

  • I have four children (aged 25, 23,20 & 17 years) – three girls and one boy
  • I love to keep active and will either walk, run or go to the gym every day
  • One of my favourite things to do is work on a project in the garden
  • I love supporting my kids in their sporting interests and consequently will be spectating at several footy and basketball games each week
  • I barrack for the Cats!
  • I love to travel, eat spicy food and meet new people
  • My background is in paediatric and adolescent nursing, but have been working as a counsellor in private practice for many years
  • I have one dog, two cats, two guinea pigs and two ponies…and several kangaroos that like to eat the fresh grass in our paddocks

I feel so honoured to be here at OGPS and look forward to seeing you all around the school.
