EISM Division 1 Athletics

Our DCC Division 1 EISM Athletics Team travelled to Lakeside Stadium on Monday 18th May to compete in the EISM Division 1 Athletics Carnival. It was a misty and fresh morning, and thankfully the rain held off for the day of competition.
Our students competed with great effort and humility on the track and in the field, achieving wonderful results and displaying excellent encouragement of one another.
As a school, we placed 2nd Overall, which is an exceptional result! We also placed and 2nd in the Overall Girls Aggregate, and 3rd in the Overall Boys Aggregate. DCC also won the U15 Girls, U16 Girls, and U16 Boys Age Groups.
Additionally, three of our students broke EISM records on the day; Bri Coffey (U15 Girls 1500m), Zander Botha (U16 Boys 400m) and Lewis McLennan (U15 Boys Discus).
Further to these amazing achievements, we congratulate Emma Paravicini (Year 12) who won the Open Girls High Jump, completing six years in a row of winning the EISM High Jump! A complete list of students who received a place in their events is at the end of the article.
A huge thank you to Trevor Carter, Justin Botha and our sport coaches for their expertise, coaching and encouragement of our students in training and competition for the EISM Carnival.

EISM Athletics was a great day to see our athletes perform on a bigger stage. We had many notable performances, with three records broken by Dovale athletes. As a school, we came second overall which is an amazing effort from everyone who came. We got lucky that it didn't rain on us and the weather held off for a great day. Overall, it was wonderful to see our students use their God given abilities in athletics, and a huge thank you to everyone who came and participated!
