Dear Parents and Carers,
In addition to all of the great learning that is happening for our students, we have had lots of great events happening and to look forward to.
Our students enjoyed their time at the Library for our F/1/2 students for the National Simultaneous Storytime and our senior students watched past Sacred Heart School students and friends perform in the Corryong College production.
As a school we also celebrated Miss Lockwood receiving her Australian Citizenship! The cherubs enjoyed running around shouting 'Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi' when she came near for a good couple of days! Although officially now an Aussie, we still get a giggle when she checks an Aussie phrase or word she hasn't heard all these years later.

We have had many students to celebrate in their recent sporting achievements. We presented Billy and Henry with their medallions after achieving Age Champion status at the recent combined Athletics Carnival with Corryong College and Walwa Primary School.

We also had Paige, Matilda and Henry participate in the Division Cross Country, the next level on from our combined Cross Country event with Corryong College. All three students enjoyed the challenge, the opportunity to compete against a large number of students and to try out a new course. We congratulated them all at our student briefing and wish Matilda the best of luck as she came 2nd and gets to head off to the next zone Cross Country event. A fantastic achievement Tills!
Our Year 4/5/6 students have been invited to attend a STEM event organised by CUC at Corryong College in Week Ten. This will continue to build on the STEM opportunities that our students have had in workshops with Snowy Hydro each term so far. In very exciting news, Miss Lockwood has continued to build our partnership with Snowy Hydro and their STEM Hub and has recently been successful in again gaining a grant to support our student learning. We thank Snowy Hydro for their continued support of our students STEM learning, the $10,000 they have granted us, is going to provide new and exciting STEM resources for our students to explore now and in years to come in STEM learning with Miss Lockwood.
This week Mrs Nagy, Kasie and myself have visited both groups at Corryong Preschool to share with families our upcoming Open Day and 'Come & Try' day for 2027 Foundation students. Our enrolments for 2027 are currently open and we welcome all prospective 2027 Foundation students to attend our Open Day, Come and Try day and begin the enrolment process. We have many younger siblings of current families that we look forward to welcoming in 2027, as well as the hope of new families to join our Sacred Heart School community also.

Parent & Carer Community Group
We are fortunate to be supported by many dedicated parents and carers at Sacred Heart School, who give up their time to attend P & C meetings to discuss school happenings, provide feedback and discuss any fundraising opportunities. Our next meeting is on Tuesday the 9th of June at 5.30 pm in the school Library, and I warmly invite all parents and carers who are interested in attending to please come along.
I look forward to sharing with you in the coming weeks our brand new school website. CESL are currently working with all schools to update and create fantastic new websites that showcase the great learning opportunities at each school. Our new school website includes many great new professional photographs taken of our students and you're going to see many familiar faces on our new website!
Please check the school calendar for upcoming events that will round out our Term Two.
