Wish You Were Here Postcard Exhibition
The Year 9 Elective Art Students participated in the ‘Wish You Were Here’ postcard exhibition. This was in conjunction with their Installation projects responding to the theme of ‘Here’. We had three postcards featured with Ela Stedman-Sinnit winning the Youth category, Zara Taylor winning the Peoples Choice Award and Alice Bladwin’s art taking pride of place on the exhibition poster. Well done to all students who entered. All the student’s postcards were on display and were beautiful interpretations of the concept.
STRIVE
The Year 8 STRIVE program came to life in a vibrant and meaningful way through the recent Colour Run, with students raising an impressive $1500 for St Vincent de Paul (Vinnies). This generous contribution will make a significant difference at a time of year when many individuals and families experience increased financial and social pressure.
The event was a powerful reflection of the core values of STRIVE: spirituality, teamwork, resilience, independence, volunteerism, and empowerment. Their willingness to step outside their comfort zones throughout the entire program and support a cause greater than themselves exemplifies the spirit of the program and our students.
At the centre of the event was an afternoon of colour and fun. A massive thank you to the staff who agreed to be slimed. This motivation for our students to raise money made the event even more special.
Beyond the colour, fun, and laughter, the Colour Run showcased what STRIVE is designed to achieve: young people who are confident, compassionate, and socially responsible. The Year 8 students should be commended for their outstanding effort throughout our entire year and the positive impact they have made within the wider community.
