Trangia Cooking Experience
Year 10 Outdoor and Environmental Studies
The Year 10 Outdoor and Environmental Studies classes recently participated in a Trangia cooking experience, using an outdoor portable stove to cook foods as if they were camping.
This activity taught students about the practical elements of preparing food safely, planning ingredients, and working collaboratively with others to create a meal. Some students chose to cook noodles, others created spicy chicken, and we even saw one group cooking naan bread over the fire! I was proud of the students for their ability to think ahead and plan for their experience, be safe around the cooking area, and share their creations with each other.
The students’ next Outdoor Experience is coming up on Monday, 30th of March, when the Year 10 Outdoor and Environmental Studies groups will participate in a surfing trip, followed by a visit to the Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie.
