LOOK WHAT HAS BEEN HAPPENING IN AUSLAN AT MPHPS
Hello everyone,
We are looking forward to the next fortnight with lots of fun learning in the Auslan classroom. It’s always great to see students practising the signs they have learnt and being enthusiastic about their learning.
SIGNS OF THE WEEK
Don’t forget to ask your child to show you some of the AUSLAN signs they have been learning. The signs of the week are: ‘time’, ‘1’oclock’ & ‘half past 3.’
IN THE CLASSROOM
YEAR 3 –
Signs related to months of the year in Auslan.
YEAR 4 –
Signs related to telling the ‘time – a quarter past/ a quarter to’ in Auslan.
YEAR 5 –
Learning about deaf culture in Auslan.
YEAR 6 – Signs related to travel in Auslan.
- Just like hundreds of foreign languages are spoken around the globe, people who are deaf use different sign languages depending on where they live. It’s estimated there are 130 sign languages around the world.
