World Teacher and ES Day

It was 'Hats off to our staff' on Wednesday 29th  October. We celebrated this day in style with a lovely morning tea and a student assembly to say 'thank you' to our dedicated and hardworking staff.  We also had some fun by hosting a 'Bittern PS' Spelling Bee. Based on the show 'Guy Mont Spelling Bee on the ABC we battled it off to see who was the best speller in our school. Mrs Towill was very impressive, with Ms Mac. hot on her heels. Lots of fun was had and the students thoroughly enjoyed it. A huge shout out to our dedicated staff who approach every day with a smile and ensure all our students are engaged and learning.

2026 planning underway

The end of the year is rapidly approaching and we are deep into planning for next year. To confirm student numbers we need to know if there are any changes with enrolments in 2026. Please let us know if you are aware of any students intending to enrol or if there is any change in your circumstances that may affect our student numbers. Thank you for your support.

Working Bee

Last week we held a working bee at school. The aim of this working bee was to garden, weed, prune and tidy up our garden areas. A huge thank you to Brenda for organising this work. Brenda works tirelessly in our gardens and we are so grateful for her commitment to our school. Thank you also to Bronwyn Becker, Georgia and Tim for your work on this day. Also a huge shout out to our students and teachers who joined in the fun and became the 'mulch moving' brigade in our kitchen garden.

Student Leadership at BPS

Our Year 6 student leadership teams have had an impressive year. They have represented our school with pride at many events this year and undertaken their roles and responsibilities with positivity and confidence. It is now time for this team to pass the baton on to our potential 2026 leaders.

Year 5 students that are interested in applying for a leadership position will be asked to prepare a speech to present to staff and students in the first week of December. Some time will be given in class to prepare these speeches and any assistance at home would be a great idea. Our leadership team will be announced at our final assembly on Friday 12th December.

Lest we Forget

Tuesday November 11th was Remembrance Day. Ms Bacon and I had the pleasure of taking our senior leadership team to the Crib Point Memorial Reserve for the Remembrance Day Service. On behalf of the school, the student leaders laid a wreath and participated in the service to remember those who gave their lives in the line of duty.
