Student successes
Golf – Jack Cowan, Yr 9, who recently broke the Bacchus Marsh West golf club course record hitting a 67 recently,
featured in an interview on radio station Sport 1116 for achieving a hole in one at Royal Melbourne Golf course
161m 5th hole - this course is regarded as one of the top 5 in the world.
Netball – Haleina Suafoa Tanoi was chosen to be an assistant coach/mentor for the Victorian 15yrs and under netball.
team at the Australian schools championships in Queensland recently (the Vics came home with a silver medal).
ATHLETICS
The first draft of the athletics team has been chosen and will be posted on Compass very soon. All students should check it as some students have been drafted in, possibly in events they are not expecting. If any student is selected and does not want to compete, that is fine, please let Mr. Darcy know as early as possible. There are usually multiple drafts of the selections posted due to withdrawals.

Basketball – Division level
- Senior Boys – lost to Sunbury 14-43, lost to Bacchus Marsh 15-43, lost to Alice Miller 22-24, and lost to Kurunjang 14-30.
Soccer - Division level
- Intermediate boys – def Heathdale 3-2, def Kurunjang 2-1, def Bacchus Marsh 3-0 but lost to Staughton 1-2
- Intermediate Girls – defeated Sunbury 2-0 and drew with Alice Miller 0-0 to qualify on countback for the Region final
Soccer – Region level
- Intermediate Girls – lost to Williamstown 0-2 and lost to The Grange 0-2.
Netball – Division level
- Senior Girls – def Melton Christian College 14-10 but lost to Bacchus Marsh 15-20 and lost to Sunbury Downs 11-31
- Intermediate Girls – def Alice Miller 42-0, def Bacchus Marsh 31-6 but lost to Sunbury 16-21
- Senior Boys – lost to Sunbury Downs 7-24 and lost to Gisborne 7-21
Badminton – Division level
- Senior Girls – def Sunbury Downs 6-0, def Sunbury 6-0 but lost to Gisborne 2-4
- Intermediate Boys – def Bacchus Marsh 4-2, drew with Heathdale 3-3 but won on countback 107pts-87pts, then def Gisborne 4-2 to qualify for the Region final.
- Intermediate Girls – def Heathdale 4-2, def Sunbury 6-0, def Sunbury Downs 6-0, but lost to Gisborne 2-4.
Badminton – Region level
- Intermediate Boys – lost to Werribee 0-6, lost to Homestead 0-6, and lost to Maribyrnong 0-6.
Entries and Trainings
Look for the training Compass post send out on a Friday or each weekend.
Trainings will occur on Mondays, Thursdays, and Friday’s afterschool 3.15-4.15.
These dates are usually posted on Compass every Sunday/Monday as a reminder, plus there may be changes for that week due to coaches’ availability etc.
General Sport Excursion Reminders
- All consent forms must be returned like every other excursion to the front office WITH the payment by the due date on the form. This date is a week before the event.
- No student will be allowed to bring the consent form on the day and/or bring the money on the day.
- No CONSENT form - No MONEY – not returned by DUE date = No GO = get left behind = unhappy team and coach
- Parents – Please pay attention to 3 very important details on the consent forms.
