Community Mentors Inspire Year 11 Students in PDS Classes

On Friday, 1st August, our Year 11 Personal Development Skills (PDS) classes had the privilege of hearing from our dedicated Community Mentors here at MSC. The session was a valuable opportunity for students to learn directly from individuals who are actively making a difference in our school and local communities.

Each mentor shared a brief introduction about themselves, offering insight into their unique backgrounds and personal journeys. They spoke about their roles as Community Mentors, highlighting the important work they do in supporting students, fostering connections, and building a strong sense of belonging across the school.

Students also heard heartfelt reflections on why these mentors chose their roles, what community engagement means to them, and how they actively demonstrate citizenship in their everyday lives. The discussion touched on key themes such as leadership, responsibility, and the power of making a positive impact both within the school and in the wider community.

It was an inspiring session that encouraged students to reflect on their own values and consider how they, too, can contribute meaningfully to their communities. A big thank you to our Community Mentors for generously sharing their time, stories, and experiences.
