State Cross Country Results
On Thursday 24th July the State Cross Country Championships were held in Yarra Glen. Auburn South Primary was represented by Fiona R, Lewie L, Jonah T and Juan D.
This is the penultimate round in the Cross Country in Victoria and Auburn South students produced some of the best results this school has ever had.
Fiona R did an amazing job in finished in the top 30. Juan D produced an outstanding performance to finish 13th overall. Congratulations goes to Lewie L who fished 4th in the State for the 12 year old boys age group and has qualified for Nationals. Also a massive congratulation goes to Jonah T who finished 6th and will represent Victoria at Nationals later this year.
Congratulation to all the students for making the State Finals and we wish Louis and Jonah the best of luck at Nationals.
Basketball
We played the district Kooyoung basketball competition at Bialik. The team was represented by Grace T, Scout R, Elle D, Daisy G, Khalissa K, Juliet B, Millie C and Sienna H.
In the first game Auburn South played Balwyn it was a terrific effort and Auburn South won by 18 points. In the second game Auburn South played Canterbury and we lost 2 points. In the third game we played Strathcona and won. We started slow but we came back and won by 9 points. By winning that game we made it to the semi finals. In the semifinal Auburn South played Camberwell and won by 8. Auburn South made it to the grand final in which Auburn South played Canterbury Auburn South were kind of nervous heading into this game after a loss against them. Auburn South tried shutting down their best players and to Auburn South’s surprise we won by 9 points!!

Division T Ball
On Wednesday 30th July the Auburn South Girls played the Division T Ball finals at Myrtle Park in Balwyn. The girls team consisting of Juliet B, Lucy C, Scout R, Elle D, Daisy G, Millie C, Sienna H, Grace T, Alex T and Holly put on a magnificent performance.
Auburn South beat Greythorn 26 to 0 in the first game. The Auburn South fielding was the highlight with Juliet B, Grace T and Daisy G leading the way.
Auburn South then beat Ashburton Primary in game two 16 – 2. A solid performance by all the girls and the highlight was the hitting as Ashburton were much improved in the field.
Auburn South then played Kew Primary in the final as the two undefeated teams went head to head. The final score was 15 – 3 with the Auburn South Girls putting in an outstanding display of fielding to continually restrict Kew’s scoring.
Congratulations to all the girls, it was a pleasure coaching them on the day and the whole Auburn South Community wishes you the best of luck at the Eastern, Metropolitan and Regional finals in August 20.
