Think Science

This year, students from Essex Heights Primary School participated in the Think Science! competition for the very first time.

Out of more than 1,400 students from 55 schools across Australia who took part in this year's challenge, our 22 participating students stepped into the shoes of real-life scientists. Working collaboratively, they developed authentic scientific questions, designed and conducted hands-on experiments, analysed their results, and produced incredible videos documenting their entire scientific journey.

Out of all the entries nationwide, two Essex Heights teams earned special recognition from the judging panel for their outstanding scientific thinking:

• Highly Commended (Year 3/4 Category):  Congratulations to Aubrey and Penelope (3E) for their fantastic project.
• 3rd Place in Australia (Year 3/4 Category):  A massive congratulations to Evie and Eden (Year 4), who placed among the top teams in the entire country out of more than 1,400 students, receiving certificates and medals!

To celebrate this incredible milestone, Evie and Eden’s winning video has been officially showcased on the national Think Science website.
