SACRAMENT OF FIRST RECONCILIATION 2026 

The Sacrament of First Reconciliation recognises that we are human and we all make mistakes that impact our relationships with others. It is a sacrament the children can continue to receive throughout their lives, to ask for and receive forgiveness. Throughout Semester Two your child has engaged in Religious Education lessons which have prepared them for the Sacrament.

In the leadup to the celebration, all candidates are required to attend Mass at St. Brendan’s Church on Saturday 10th October at 5:30pm or at Holy Rosary Church on Sunday 11th October at 10:30am, to be presented to the community.  As candidate names are read aloud, they will be asked to stand and they will state their wish to receive the Sacrament by Father Andrew.  The presentation Mass is an important part of the candidates’ preparation for Reconciliation, so it is essential for all candidates to attend.  

For preparation purposes, please email me at smaguire@hrkensington.catholic.edu.au to confirm which Mass your family will attend. If you are unable to attend any of these Masses please also make contact to organise an alternative.
