CLASSROOM NEWS!

Prep, 1 Superheroes

Literacy

In Literacy, we have been learning all about weekend recounts. The students have been practising sharing events in the correct order and using their writing to tell others about something they did over the weekend. We are continuing to work on adding details, using complete sentences and including interesting words to make our recounts exciting to read.

Numeracy

We have been busy exploring patterns and shapes. The students have enjoyed identifying, describing and creating different patterns, as well as investigating the features of 2D shapes. We have loved seeing their mathematical thinking as they explain their ideas and discover shapes and patterns on our school grounds and the world around us.

Father’s Day Brekkie

Our Father’s Day Brekkie was a wonderful morning of connection and community. It was fantastic to see so many special people joining us, sharing breakfast and spending some special time together. Thank you to everyone who helped make the morning such a memorable one!

Trying New Fruits

During our fruit break this week, the students had the opportunity to try dragon fruit! It was wonderful to see so many students being brave and adventurous as they tasted something new. We had lots of interesting discussions about its colour, texture, appearance and, of course, whether we liked the taste!

Prep, 1 & 2 Disco and Sleepover!

There is lots of excitement building for our Prep, 1 & 2 Disco and Sleepover this Thursday! The students are very excited about dancing, having fun with their friends and enjoying a special night together at school. We can't wait!

What a wonderful fortnight it has been! We are so proud of the students' enthusiasm, curiosity and willingness to have a go at new experiences.

Below are some photos of the students practicing a wellness strategy, yoga. Students love going on adventures with 'Cosmic Kids' practicing yoga a mindfulness activity.

Team 2/3

Hasn’t the term flown! We have done a mountain of work in all learning areas and learnt lots. Planning has started for a busy term 4 with narrative writing, measurement and a review of the all the topics we’ve been learning this year.

Our Grade 2 students eagerly await the Sleepover night on Thursday night. We have lots of fun planned, yummy food, great music and a lovely movie to finish off the night. We will have a delicious pancake breakfast in the morning with some cereal and toast and a BBQ lunch on Friday.

Friday will see Lane and George finish their time at IPS! Both heading off to new homes and adventures. Lane off to sunny Queensland and George heading into Bendigo. Make sure you say goodbye of you get a chance. Hopefully the boys come back for a visit at some stage!

Enjoy your holidays!

4/5/6

We’ve had a very busy end to the term in the 4/5/6 classroom! Even though all of the students are ready and excited for the term break, they have still been demonstrating lots of dedication during their learning time and are continuing to produce great work. They have also been setting a great example for the younger students, demonstrating our school values consistently and supporting others to do the same.

In Literacy we have been continuing to work hard at our spelling and grammar. We have also finished reading ‘Bindi’, and are wrapping up our unit by writing 100-word summaries of the story. In Maths the students have been getting hands-on with 3D shapes, and both Humanities and Technology have been dedicated to researching and creating posters about renewable energy sources.

Enjoy your holidays, and make sure to get some well-earned rest!
