Principal’s Report – End of Term 3

As we wrap up Term 3, I would like to take the opportunity to thank our entire school community for another wonderful and incredibly busy term. There have been so many highlights, including Book Week, athletics, Father’s and Special Person’s Breakfast, sporting events, our Year 6 transition activities and, of course, the many wonderful learning opportunities happening in our classrooms every day. I continue to be incredibly proud of the way our students represent Inglewood Primary School and demonstrate our values of Be Kind, Work Hard and Grow Together.

Celebrating Our Community

I would like to make a special mention of Jayne Lawson and her netball team on their fantastic win. Unfortunately, the victory was over an Inglewood team, which created some divided loyalties, but in the true spirit of good sportsmanship, we were very happy to celebrate Jayne’s achievement! Not only was Jayne coaching the team, but she was also out there playing. Congratulations, Jayne, on a fantastic achievement.

I would also sincerely like to congratulate the two Inglewood teams that made it through to the finals during our town’s 150th year. While we didn’t come away with the wins we were hoping for, making the finals was a wonderful achievement in such a significant year for our community. The support shown from across Inglewood was fantastic and demonstrated once again the strong community spirit that makes our town such a special place.

Another little piece of history this year has been the return/start-up of Under 14s football, with a number of our students taking the opportunity to pull on the boots and be involved. It has been wonderful to see more opportunities becoming available for our young people to participate in local sport and strengthen those important community connections.

Congratulations, Tyler!

A huge congratulations to Tyler Cook, who represented Inglewood Primary School at the Sandhurst Division in long jump. Tyler finished an outstanding 4th place with a jump of 3.94 metres.

Reaching this level of competition is a fantastic achievement in itself, and we are extremely proud of the way Tyler represented our school. Well done, Tyler!

OSHC Holiday Program

A quick update regarding our OSHC Holiday Program. Due to low booking numbers, OSHC will not operate during the first week of the school holidays.

The good news is that Week 2 is jam-packed with lots of fun and exciting activities, and there are still a few places available. If your child would like to attend, please make sure you book in so they don’t miss out.

Looking Ahead to Term 4

As we continue updating our Term 4 calendar, it is already shaping up to be another very busy and exciting term!

During Term 4, we will be trialling the UEducateUs calendar as our live school calendar. This will allow families to access the most current information about school events, activities and important dates in one place.

We will also be moving to monthly newsletters and monthly assemblies. Please keep an eye on the calendar for assembly dates and note that assemblies will now begin at the earlier time of 2:30 pm, giving us enough time to celebrate everything happening across our school.

With newsletters moving to monthly, UEducateUs will become our main source of regular communication and updates, so I encourage all families to check it regularly to make sure you don’t miss important information.

School Sleepover!

There is certainly plenty of excitement building around the school about our upcoming school sleepover! The students are already talking about it, and the school is buzzing with anticipation. Events like this provide our students with opportunities to build independence, strengthen friendships and make those special school memories they will hopefully talk about for years to come. We can’t wait!

Happy Holidays

Finally, thank you to our students, families and staff for everything you have contributed throughout Term 3. It has certainly been a busy term, and the flexibility, support and community spirit shown along the way have been greatly appreciated.

I wish all of our families a safe, happy and well-deserved holiday break. Enjoy the opportunity to slow down, spend time together and recharge.
