Message From Our Principal

Mrs Jackie Stockdale

It’s hard to believe that we are already in Week 8 of Term 1. The term has been busy and productive, with students working hard and participating in many learning opportunities across the school. I hope everyone enjoyed the recent long weekend and had the chance to rest and spend time with family and friends. As we move towards the final weeks of the term, we look forward to continuing the great learning and positive energy across our school community.

Next week I will be away from school as my partner and I celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary by returning to our honeymoon destination, Hamilton Island. While I am away, the school will be in very capable hands with our leadership team, and Ms Katie Rasmussen will be stepping into the role of Acting Principal. I appreciate their support and leadership during this time and look forward to returning the following week.

Congratulations to our Grade 3 and Grade 5 students who completed their NAPLAN assessments this week. They approached the tests with a positive attitude and showed great focus and perseverance throughout the process. We are very proud of the effort they put in and the way they represented our school. Thank you also to our staff for supporting students so well during the week.

We are looking forward to celebrating St Patrick’s Day at school next week. Parents and carers are warmly invited to join us for our Green Parade on Tuesday at 9:00am, where students will come together to celebrate with plenty of green and school spirit. Families are also welcome to attend our St Patrick’s Day Mass on Thursday at 2:15pm. We look forward to celebrating this special occasion with our school community.

Last week we celebrated International Women’s Day and took a moment to acknowledge the incredible women who shape our school community every single day.

To our teachers and staff- thank you for the passion, care, strength, and dedication you bring into the classroom and beyond. You inspire our students to be curious, confident, and compassionate, and your impact reaches far beyond the school gates.

We are grateful for the role you play in nurturing the next generation and for the example you set through your leadership, resilience, and kindness.

Happy International Women’s Day!

Last Friday we said a temporary goodbye to the wonderful Mrs Mclay as she begins her maternity leave.  Mrs Mclay has brought so much care, energy and dedication to our school community, and she will be greatly missed while she’s away. Her kindness and support have made a lasting impact on so many students and staff. We wish her all the very best as she prepares to welcome her little one. This is such an exciting new chapter, and we hope she enjoys every precious moment of this special time with her growing family. From all of us at the school, thank you Mrs Mclay- we can’t wait to hear all the happy baby news and look forward to welcoming you back in the future!

We ask parents and carers to please speak with their children about the appropriate use of smart watches at school. While these devices can be helpful, it is important that students understand when and how they should be used during the school day so that they do not distract from learning. Families are encouraged to read the school’s Student Use of Mobile Devices Policy and Procedures to better understand the school’s expectations and guidelines regarding these devices.

In 2026, we will continue to place a strong focus on student attendance, as regular and punctual school attendance is vital for learning, wellbeing, and long-term success. Being at school every day helps students build strong routines, maintain friendships, and fully engage with their learning. We appreciate the ongoing support of families in prioritising attendance and working in partnership with the school to ensure every child has the best possible opportunity to thrive.
