Signora Hill stepped in to take Italian this week. How lucky that Signora Hill has actually travelled to Italy and visited the Leaning Tower of Pisa!!! The students in Grade 3 were treated to lesson on the history of the Leaning Tower and what tourists do there - take a photo pretending to hold up the Leaning Tower.

The Foundation students are learning the colours in Italian

The juniors have continued developing their FMS (Foundational Movement Skills). The Foundies are really perfecting their two-foot jump technique, focusing on their swinging "ski" arms. They enjoyed it so much that they wanted to repeat the circuit challenge!

The 1/2 students are learning correct running form, and it's amazing how challenging it can be when you have to really focus on it! Again, one major component is the "hip to lip" arm swing, as well as the high knees and stride. This challenging task was interwoven with fun games, including the 'tallest to shortest' challenge, which they all enjoyed! The students are demonstrating great improvement in both their running and jumping form! We capped the lesson off with some ball-handling practice.

Tennis with David continues and it's pleasing to see significantly less balls whacked over the fence!! David finished each lesson with a fun team challenge that really had the students working together! The children are being extended into proper pairs rally play as David prepares them for Team Tennis later in the term.

In Art we have finished off some of our wonderful drawing projects we've been working on this term and they are now on display. We have been working on exploring and building on our drawing skills and techniques and it really shows through the artworks. If you are at the school, please take some time to check out the displays of incredible artwork our students have worked so hard on. They will be sure to brighten your day!

Over the past few DigiTech (Digital Technologies) lessons, students have been looking at how data can be collected and represented. Students in the lower years have been collecting data using tally marks and creating class spreadsheets, while the students in 5/6 have created some surveys using Microsoft Forms to collect data from the students in other year levels. We will use spreadsheets and graphs to explore ways to organise the data we collect in useful ways - figuring out what information is useful to show and how we can use spreadsheets, tables, graphs and pictures to display it!
