Holiday Borrowing and Reading

Last week Years 3,5,6 and Kindergarten had their final library lesson for the term, and tomorrow (Thursday) Years 4,2,1 will have their chance to borrow for the holidays. The children have the opportunity to borrow extra books for holiday reading, and can keep their loans until Week 1 of Term 2.

The holidays are a great time to spend some extra time reading, and if the children finish reading their school library loans, there are other free and easily accessible options to keep up the reading. Your local public library is a wonderful resource, with lots of books, toys and both audiobooks and eBooks. Audiobooks are a great option if you are travelling this Easter.

The State Library is also hosting some great book related events to celebrate 200 years of this incredible institution. Both R.A Spratt and Mick Elliott are appearing, and you can check the event details here: https://www.sl.nsw.gov.au/whats-on

Premier's Reading Challenge

The holidays are also a great time to work towards completing the Premier's Reading Challenge!

Thank you to all the parents and Carers who have been encouraging their children to fill in the reading logs that were sent home. These are especially important for Years K-2, so that I am able to update their records. Please keep the reading logs in library bags

Students in Years 3-6 also have access to their PRC log in, and have been taught how to access the PRC site, so they should be able to have a go at adding books for themselves. However, they know that if they run into any difficulties, they can give me their written log and I will update their accounts.

I am very excited to report that 15 of our students have already completed the challenge! Well done to all of them. The official certificates from the NSW Premier are distributed in Term 4, but these children will be given a Library award when they return in Term 2.

Have a peaceful break, and happy reading.
