Clare's message........

Good afternoon Families,
It's great to be in touch with you again and to be filling you in on the past couple of weeks. It's been busy as usual but full of fun and activity.
My thanks go to Georgia, Tommy, Stella and Hudson who organised a mini fundraiser for Mini Vinnies in the form of a PJ Day. It was a massive success and we raised a tidy little sum of $200 to donate to Vinnies and to those in our community who might not be as fortunate as us. The weather was a bit tricky with a balmy 25C but as children do, they simply brought a change of summer pjs in case they got hot!
What a beautiful Mother's day breakfast it was today. With a bumper crowd and a crew of children who were famished, we all enjoyed a scrumptious brekky and a few pampers for our Mums. Thank for coming ladies and kids- we love spoiling you a little. Make sure you check out the photos around the school next week. And to keep the sentiment going of just how special our Mums are, today l asked our children to.....
Photography and Recording Permission forms went home today. MACS has produced a new, easier form that every parent needs to sign off for their child. Consent may be varied subsequent to returning this form if you change your mind. The principal will remind parents and carers annually of this option to vary through the school’s usual communication channels. A new consent form will need to be completed to give effect to a change or withdrawal of permissions. Please complete, sign and return by Friday 15th May.
We do take these permission forms seriously. Please think carefully about your permission.
- If you do not give permission, your child will not appear in any school newsletters, pamphlets etc...
- If you do give permission, the school will always contact you when your child's photo is used in broader advertising, pamphlets, promotional material or MACS produced material.
Please note- The school does put up school displays on external display boards around the school. The Photography and Recording Permission does not apply to this.
Our next working bee is coming up on Sunday 24th May from 11 am. We are so grateful for the generosity of the families who have come along and helped with the past two but would love NEW and other families to take a turn too. The hidden bonus on days like this are the connections made and the new friendships ignited from working side by side with someone you may not know. And the kids love it too! So please sign up... we're working on the sensory garden and mulching the garden beds along with some pruning and other small jobs. Email me if you are coming... principal@slblackburnsth.catholic.edu.au
Our Monday afternoon assemblies are for everyone. Please join us in the Discovery Centre to stay informed with what our children are learning as a different class showcases each week and hear the up-to-date news of what's happening at St Luke's. We start at 2.50 pm but come in whenever you arrive. We would love to see you.
St Luke's Rumour File... St Luke's is thriving, We are taking enrolments NOW and WE ARE the BEST SCHOOL AROUND BLACKBURN SOUTH! Please spread this rumour wide and far.
Have a wonderful weekend pampering your Mums, Grandmothers and other special females in your life. I'll see you next week.
Clare Ryan
